Sean Jesudasan bio picture

Thanks for dropping by

Back in Asia after a spell of self-imposed exile in North America, and questioning myself daily about that decision, I find little pockets of inspiration when I see how different cultures melt into each other over the flame. I enjoy reading multiple books at a time, good healthy food (who doesn't?), long walks, the smell of rain, writing about rain, and photography.

Speaking of photography, I work as a producer for a television network, but during the nights, I pretend to run my own cafe. Reality's wake up call is a rude one, and I'm torn between two continents and two industries. I miss my beautiful home and family in Canada, where the water is always blue, the weather channel almost always accurate, and the public transport a certainty.

Here in Asia, those three things are not guaranteed, but the food is va va voom. Anyone who's been here would swear by it.

Still, taking pictures and making movies will always be close to my heart. Food and film, best things you can offer to the starving artist.

Once, he was the world’s strongest man. Today, after the devastation that wrecked his home, he needs to be that man again.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan at this moment. Recovery may seem distant, but the long road to recovery is certain. Keep believing and stay strong, our hearts are with you. Shikata ga nai, gambatte kudasai.

Young or old, we really are just a sum of our experiences and memories. The more I ponder about it, the less convinced I am that we’re really any different at all.

Ellpwhy - Very well said. Something to ponder upon.March 16, 2011 - 10:08 pm

Elaine - I love how you can totally tell this was taken from inside a vehicle. It's an inside-looking-out shot, but probably the best one ever. Also, what an effing great train ride, with a view like that.March 17, 2011 - 7:45 pm
